We build custom subwoofer enclosure panels for the Porsche 911 (Porsche, Porsche 911, and 911 are all trademarks of Porsche Cars North America, no affiliation or endorsement is intended) which we install as well as ship all over the world!  You can order "the system" for your car, with your choice of quality components, no low end stuff, have it shipped to your door complete with detailed instructions and our toll free tech support, 9-6, Monday through Saturday PST.   It makes a nice project, with predictable results that several hundred other 911 owners are enjoying already.  We can help evaluate what you've got, what you'd like, and what you feel comfortable spending.  If you've already got some good quality components in place, we can help with some more upgrades to deliver some version of "the system".  Oftentimes, correct installation of components, and proper crossover and amplifier settings will make a noticeable difference in how a system performs regardless of whether the components are high, medium, or low end.

A Short Letter to Porsche 911 and 911 Turbo Owners:

(the below letter is from 1992 or so.  An updated letter follows)

Fellow Porsche and Stereo Enthusiast,

I'll never forget how incredible the sound was after I installed the prototype for this enclosure in my 1978 Porsche 911SC Targa. It literally enhanced, even changed my life! Accurate, quality bass enhances music and drastically changes the dynamics for the listener. You can actually feel the sound! There appear to be several things which enhance real quality sound in these cars: The interior is relatively small, the door speakers are positioned fairly well (since the seating position is lower than most cars), and these cars are very solid with reasonably well damped interiors - there usually aren't any rattles or buzzes to accompany your music. (Good subs are essential for Cabriolets and Targas, especially with the roof open while on the open road.)

What causes me to sometimes sit in my car, parked, just listening to the stereo?  What transforms music reproduction into an "experience"? If you've listened to a quality stereo system with some well-recorded music, then you already know why.  Your car becomes alive with the music. Because of the small, confined space in these cars, the car's construction and quality of assembly, it's very easy to put together a really great stereo system. Just a pair of good subwoofers in a well-made enclosure, decent quality speakers in the doors, (either 2-way coaxials or separates), a quality radio/head unit (CD players are the best), enough power (amplification) to drive the sound - and I can guarantee that you'll feel more "involved" with your music. And these cars are ALREADY a pleasure to drive!

Imagine how you'll feel with audiophile-quality music as well! Suddenly, a song that you've heard before sounds different, you notice the actual instruments making the sounds, the vocals sound rich with texture and real presence. Believe me, it doesn't take much at all in these cars. It's far easier working with 911's than most sedan body style cars with subwoofers located back in a trunk.  A trunk which is isolated from the car interior.  An interior with much more space to fill...

I'd like to help you make a journey which could transform the way that you hear music, even music you've already heard many times before.  Imagine a system in which you take great pleasure demonstrating its capabilities with everyone you know who appreciates good music.  100% satisfaction guarantee, i.e., I want to make sure you are happy.  Toll Free Technical Support.  Please call me today.  1-800-892-6430

Cordially,

UPDATE, Feb 2010:

Here we are, the beginning of 2010, the first few days of February.  The recession forced us to trim everywhere we could, our staff is currently 4 full time guys, Rod, Carl, Tony and Charles.  I wouldn't trade any of these guys for anyone I've ever employed.  The past two years saw many of our local competitors close, including Circuit City, but we've been fortunate enough to stay busy.  Every time I start to worry about an empty day or two on the schedule, people come out of nowhere locally, or Porsche customers email and call from all over the U.S. and world.  It does my heart good to see how many genuine people really truly want us to do well.  We can feel it!

We are forever indebted to many local and national, even international customers for helping us to build a reputation and a store where we can prove that trying hard to make people happy CAN be a formula for success.  This operation has also been an experiment for me, where I treat each of my employees like a partner.  We're in this together, and we want to take care of every customer, for our mutual benefit.  Plus, it just feels right.

I just finished sitting in my own car (I waited 15 years 'between' Porsches while building the business!) in my garage and listening, enjoying, and evaluating the incredible nuances of great sound in a Porsche.  Plus, here I am sitting in my own Porsche, listening to music that I find stirring.  The range, the full sprectrum of music, tendered with shimmering accuracy, incredible impact you can feel without it overpowering you.  It is self-evident.  I listened to Evanescence and was astounded by the sound quality. I listened to America, Greatest Hits and was shocked by the presence, prominent and well-recorded, of bass guitar and kick drum notes, effortlessly reproduced by a quality sound system.  Sigh.

On the freeway, on a noisy road surface, I can't hear the music as clearly as sitting in my garage, but there are many other opportunities to enjoy it.  Plus, it's one more reason to sit in my Porsche when I'm at home.  I just sit there and gaze at the car, drifting off into the ether listening to "another" song on CD....  (When we do drive this car far, the Ipod has my entire collection, with only a slight "hit" in sound quality.)

So after I sold my 1978 911SC Targa, I was fortunate enough to work on thousands of Porsches over the next 15 years, and toward the end of 2007 I bought a used 2002 Carrera 2 (996) coupe on ebay.  I am still in love with this car, and I talk to it in my garage.  I thoroughly enjoy driving this car.  The drive home from South Dakota with the car was made long by the inferior stock "hifi" sound system.  Ugh.  ('That's okay, of course, since I planned another version of what Porsche owners have been referring to as "The System" for these cars.)

Please, enjoy perusing the website, email or call with any questions.  We speak car, Porsche (POR-SHA), electronics fluently, and we enjoy making people happy.

Sincerely,
