Ron's Mazdaspeed 3

Ron and Aimee, two of our coolest customers, dropped by the shop once to discuss options and check out some audio upgrades.  First up was Aimee's brand new, beautiful white 2009 Mazda 3.  After her car was done, Ron brought his brand new beautiful Mazdaspeed 3.

Does this thing look beautiful or what?!  Here it is after tint, outside to help the tint dry.  This is one nice machine.

Once again Charlie got to work.  I believe this car was pretty much 100% Charlie.  Once again we employed the JL Audio Cleansweep.  For speakers Ron chose the beautiful, world-class Hertz MLK165 Mille component speakers, a stout Hert 12" subwoofer, and a large, glorious Audison LRX3.1k 3-channel amplifier-with ample power and super clean specs.

Here's another shot of the interior with Charlie deep into it.  This is even before the Viper alarm went in!

Here is the back of the custom subwoofer enclosure, behind the rear seatbacks.  The wiring is hidden except for a short run of power and speaker wire there.  The crossovers for the MLK165 speakers are on display and easily accessed for adjustments.

We added probably 36 square feet of dampening mat to Ron's ride, including all doors, trunk floor, tailgate, etc.  'nice and solid!

Here is the finished product of Charlie's efforts.  This is an MDF and fiberglass enclosure of proper air volume, solid and rigid, "lined stuffed and braced", as we call it.  The carpet is a pretty good match.  The rear cargo shade/tray has been modified and now has been fitted with a steel mesh vent that looks original and helps to vent the bass into the interior.

Here's a parting shot of Ron's car in good company.  The Subaru is brand new, and there is a new Mini that you can barely see the red/black hood of, and one silver Porsche at the very end.

Thank you Ron and Aimee!  'good job, Charlie!  Now Ron is rocking with incredible sound quality and plenty of clean bass response.  Buddy!
