Porsche Carrera 2 Roadster

A super-nice fellow in the SF East Bay has this beautiful car, and he called me up to install a stereo system.  I installed one of our enclosures in his previous car, a mid 70's slantnose conversion, and now he wanted to set up his new baby with some tunes.

He bought a couple of super-powerful MTX amplifiers and a set of Boston Acoustics Pro Series separates.  I installed those along with one of our C2/C4 enclosures and a pair of JL Audio VR 525 CS separates, and this car really came alive with sound.  These cars are trickier than the earlier 911's, and running wire to various locations in the car can really take some time and effort.  It took myself and another installer about 7 hours altogether, and it seems like Emmett is really happy with it.

In fact, he called me back the next weekend to install a Viper 500HF alarm in this car as well.

For the subwoofer enclosure, I installed one of our C2/C4 style enclosures, covered in matching factory "Silk" Sliverknit carpet, loaded with two Kicker 8" Competition 8 ohm subwoofers.

This is what the amplifier installation looked like.  Really basic; I just cut out a panel of 1/2" MDF to fit in the small well above the spare tire, covered it with basic black carpet, then mounted the amplifiers to it.  This car is running some serious power with these two monstrous MTX amplifiers.  One amp is bridged into the subwoofers, the other amp is running in 2 ohm stereo mode running the smaller speakers.  The amp panel is a snug fit, with plenty of slack on the wires underneath so that it can be tilted out of the way for easy access to the spare tire.
