Golf Car!

A local outfit, Electrick Motorsports in Rocklin brings new golf carts/cars (also known as NEV or Neighborhood Electric Vehicle) to us for a modest stereo installation.

Here's a particularly sporty one.  This has a nice color and some sporty wheels.  There is an option for 20 HP, and I'll tell you-you can feel the power of the upgraded model!

Here's what the basic Kenwood AM/FM/CD player looks like, installed. This unit has an auxiliary input jack on the front so that a portable player, such as an Ipod, can also be used.

We typically cut openings and mount a pair of speakers in the rear of these golf cars.  A pair of basic 4" coaxial Kenwood speakers are all it takes for some decent sound when cruising around town or the golf course.

'One last shot of this one car.  We've done probably a dozen so far, and I'm sure more to come with gas prices and how environmentally friendly these electric cars are.  There are communities who have an entirely separate lane on the roads now for NEV's, not just golf course communities!  Many people who do live in a golf course community even have a dedicated garage space for these golf cars with a slightly smaller garage door.  How cool!
