2005 Hummer H2 Pickup

Mike came to our store and talked to Matt (one of our dudes) about doing some nice audio and video upgrades to his H2.  Luckily, the H2 pickup has space in the bed area that's open to the interior.  What a perfect place to put subs!

This is what the truck looked like while panels were fabricated to seal the area between the trunk and cab, and also to secure the rear glass in the "up" position.  This actually required some steel fabrication, and Matt did an incredible job positioning the window absolutely in place to achieve the necessary and proper "sealing" of the window.

While Matt worked on fabrication of the custom subwoofer enclosure, an amplifier rack, and some trim panels, Kris got to work on the alarm.  Mike's truck received a nice Viper 2-way pager alarm system, with some additional sensors and a few modules to make everything function properly and provide good protection.  Magnetic reed switches were employed to secure some of the rear of the truck, requiring some tricky and innovative mounting (labor intensive!) to achieve function with oem grade integration and oem wear and tear resistance.  Just installing an alarm into a vehicle like this is a big job, especially with GM's modern Class 2 databus system that we need to integrate with, requiring at least two separate modules to interface with complex data systems.  This job cannot be done without seasoned security experts like Kris, our Store Manager.

Nothing really fancy of flashy for the amps, just a nice pane with edges, wrapped in carpet, hiding most of the wire.  A couple of stout JL amps and healthy Stinger capacitor look and fit nicely under the rear seat, just like in the Tahoes, Yukons and Suburbans...

This is a poor photo, sorry, of some really nice work that Matt did, neatly vinyl wrapped, countersinking the set of four JL Audio 10W6 subwoofers, driven by a single 1000/1 amplifier.  There is more than sufficient bass for just about any taste!

From the bed/tailgate of the truck, you can see the rear of the box and panel assembly, with the Hummer logo embossed under a special coating we sprayed to seal and finish the assembly.  The color (black) helps it blend in with rear/bed of the truck.  Geoff jumped in and assisted with this job, since the scope of it was just too much for a couple of guys to get done in the time required.

Mike brought us more business (!) a month or two later when we added some headrest monitors, a gameport, and some really tricky integration of the Hummber factory headphone jacks (for Mike's Bose noise-cancelling headphones) with the video system, integrating the factory headphone volume knobs(!).  'good work Matt!

Thank you Mike, we really appreciate your business!  (Mike also brought a buddy's Escalade for us to "re-do/fix" a very, er, ambitious custom setup that's coming apart).  Rock on!
