Matt had already done extensive sound dampening in his Ford F150. He wanted a nice sound system, and chose the Focal Utopia component system, a pair of Image Dynamics 8" subs in a custom enclosure, an ARC Audio 4 channel amplifier, and a Nakamichi head unit.

The Focal Utopia 6.5" component speaker set is in a league of its own.

The 6.5" is hidden behind the stock grill, and the tweeter is flush mounted at a nice angle on the lower door panel.

We got right to work installing the component speakers, head unit, and running wire.  We also built an enclosure to house the dual 8" Image Dynamics subs, with a location for the amplifier in between, as Matt requested. This is a great way to go, and resulted in a nice layout. The subs are countersunk into the lined and stuffed enclosures of .4 cubic feet each. These subs play down to 20 Hz. (!)
