LA Installation Tour May 2006
Younger brother Jon and I (Rod) made another LA area trip the first week of May, 2006. I had a list of several Porsche 911 owners (and one Ferrari!) from late 2005. Yikes, the only catch was when I went to put the trip together 3 of the prospects (who looked like "done deals) backed out. Well, we still made the trip, we just cut it short by a few days and worked on 4 cars total.

First on our trip was a visit to Jeff's place again. (On a previous trip we installed full systems into his 1997 Porsche 993 Twin Turbo and 2001 Porsche 996 Twin Turbo). Jeff needed us to reinstall the amplifier into his 996TT after an accident and bodyshop visit resulted in its removal. He also wanted us to look at his Ferrari 360 Modena. I ended up sitting in the Modena, tweaking some adjustments, and was able to improve the sound. I thought it sounded okay and talked Jeff into keeping it stock at least for the time being. He might make a drive up to our store for a full system with video screen in the future-come on Jeff, make the drive!

Another shot of the Ferrari. This car is beautiful. The engine is an elaborate work of art too, visible through the rear glass!

Here's a shot of his two Porsche 911 Turbos, well, 3 if you include the Cayenne Turbo! The sweet Aerostar shop van is visible on the right, hehe.

One more shot of the 996TT that we reinstalled the amplifier into. I made sure everything sounded good when we were done, with some classic Journey Infinity playing when we left.

I didn't get pictures of Summer's 1990 Porsche 911 in Long Beach that we upgraded, but here's a picture of Lewis' 2003 996TT (with ceramic brakes!!!) and his 88 Carrera. We installed a full system into the 996TT including a Pioneer Z1 double din video/navigation headunit with 30 GB hard drive, XM navtraffic, cd changer and Ipod interface. We worked on the red 911 on a previous trip when we also installed a full system into Lewis' prior 996 cabriolet. Lewis was a gracious host, we spent all day Saturday and early Sunday in his garage getting the job done.

Here's another picture of Lewis' 996TT showing those yellow calipers. Man, what a sweet car!
I failed to get pictures of Ryan's super clean Arena red 1997 993 coupe in Las Vegas. We arrived in the late afternoon and worked until just about midnight, installing a nice full "the system" with high end Audison amplifier, Focal speakers, Kenwood Excelon headunit, JL Audio subwoofer package and some sound dampening (just like on Lewis' 996TT) in the rear "firewall" area. Ryan made arrangements for us to spend the night at a nice resort he works at off the strip-he said the drive over in his car was a dramatic improvement over the stock stereo-of course!
Whew! After a one week trip, it was right back to work at the shop where we're slammed with business-as usual!
Thank you everyone on this trip for the great hospitality and business, we enjoyed hanging out with everyone!
