Josh's Lexus IS300

Josh had a bunch of equipment he'd already purchased, so we got involved in the installation with some custom fabrication for his sporty IS300.

Here's a shot of the rear of Josh's car in the shop.

We installed the Kenwood DDX7015 indash Excelon touchscreen head unit, which provides 24 bit processing of CD's and DVD playback, with AM/FM just like a normal headunit.

In Josh's trunk, one of our custom guys Geoff built a subwoofer enclosure into the spare tire well (goodbye spare!) with fiberglass and MDF to house a pair of JL Audio 12W3 subs.  Above the subs he mounted a pair of Zapco amplifiers and made a cover incorporating a plexiglass panel with the Lexus logo.  Blue LED light sticks add a nice effect.

Geoff also made a carpeted cover with an embossed Lexus logo to cover the plexi opening.  The carpet used is acoustically transparent, with grill mesh making up most of the area, allowing the subwoofers to play unrestricted even with the cover in place!  All adjacent panels are flush, with a pair of fans moving air through the amplifier area and an access panel on the left side to view the capacitor.

One more shot of the front of Josh's car, it's beautiful.  We installed the MB Quart speakers and a bunch of dampening mat also in the doors and rear shelf.  Josh was really stoked to see the progress as well as the completed project.  Thanks again Josh!  Good work Geoff!
