2009 Ford F150
Joey walked into our store inquiring about some audio upgrades for his brand new truck, including headrest video monitors and an Xbox 360 gaming console. Rod worked up some ideas and put together an estimate. The system evolved further as we started work on it and Joey expressed interest in promoting his company "Lawn Crew" with some custom work as well as integration of the Xbox into the center console.

Here's Joey's truck in the shop, where we promptly took the brand new truck's interior apart. (!)

One highlight of the installation was the custom mounting of the Audison Bit One processor's controller in the dash. One of our custom guys, Carl, managed to make the unit flush and appear oem. This unit processes the sound from Joey's factory headunit and allows us to make it all sound good before reaching the new Kenwood Excelon "Reference Fit" amplifiers. Note the Xbox control button, also in a custom mount, backlit in green. We added green LED lighting throughout the interior to go with the green Lawn Crew theme.

In addition to installing a set of Hertz Mille MLK165 component speakers in each of the 4 doors, Charlie also fabricated a custom subwoofer enclosure under the rear seat for a shallow Kenwood Excelon 12" subwoofer, ported out the passenger side of the box, with an integrated recess for the 3 (!) Kenwood amplifiers. Tony cut some custom acrylic for a window in front of the amplifiers with Joey's Lawn Crew logo, lit up in green.

Here is what the rear of the console looked like after Carl extended it a few inches to accomodate the Xbox controllers, the actual DVD drive, a custom button atop the console to turn the Xbox on, and provisions for the factory vents to function just as they did from the factory. I (Rod) did some shaping, filling, priming with a Polyester high build primer, several hours of sanding then paint on Carl's creation. This picture shows before the armrest was reinstalled.

Here's a shot of this beautiful truck out in front of our shop. Joey is the coolest, he was super patient while we performed countless hours of work on lots of details to make everything function properly. Charlie also installed a Viper 5901 2-way pager remote start alarm with modules which close all windows including the rear slider and sunroof when the alarm is armed. Good job guys, and thank you for the business Joey!
