2006 Corvette (C6) Z06

Hendrick was looking to get some nice gear installed into his Corvette Z06.  Z06 is the Chevrolet symbol for 500 horsepower.  This car has a 6 speed trans for your shifting pleasure.

We first removed some gear from his prior vehicle-we weren't impressed by the shop who'd installed on the Rover, in fact we were disappointed with the work quality and poor speaker mounting methods.  Sheesh.

Hendrick's 'vette is a bright "'gimme a ticket" yellow.  This car looks mean.

Look at what our boy Matt did! He shoehorned a pair of 10W6 subs into this beast and wrapped vinyl on the suckas.  The panel in between houses the Audio Control EQ, with an easily removable panel to access adjustments on top.  Those subs are in there tight.  Matt's skills of precision ensured a nice, broad, gasket/contact surface for each subwoofer-achieving the ultimate seal.

We wanted Hendrick to look back and be thrilled by the way this setup looks.

Hendrick was also due for a multimedia and navigation setup, with a system that rocks.

We managed to squeeze a nice Kenwood indash 7" LCD AM/FM/DVD headunit with navigation, XM Navtraffic, XM music into the dash.  There is a remote bass knob, or as we call it "dial-a-bass", and those subs come alive with pulsing dance music where you can feel the impact of those subs.  The Focal Polykevlar K2P speakers in the doors sound incredible, they're getting plenty of clean power and are mounted rigidly and airtight.

This picture shows how nice the yellow Focal Polykevlar midwoofer looks behind the black door panel, on this here yellow car.

Sweet.  And the sound, oh, man, 'can't put it into words.  Sparkling, rich with detail, smooth, crisp....full range...

Here's a picture of the amp rack that Matt built. The amp rack has a removable grill revealing the JL Audio 450/4 and 1000/1 amplifiers.  We had to use heavy cable to wire those babies up. Matt wrapped his creation in vinyl, simple yet elegant, with a nicely shaped "grill" to allow heat to escape from the amps unhindered.

It's a slight challenge to keep the interior neat when adding wire to a car that's more like a factory race car.  The interior carpet is mostly different pieces that simply overlap, loosely and without adhesive.  This just means more time as we completely pull the console, rear interior quarter panels, running wire and cables as Chevrolet would have done it.

One more shot of this gorgeous car.  Hendrick is one cool cat, and it reminds me that we're always rewarded most by nice people who truly appreciate the kind of work we do-and the time it takes to do it.

We especially want nice people to enjoy the results of our work.

Thank you Hendrick, especially for being so patient!
