2000 BMW 528i
After doing some work on John’s BMW convertible, he introduced us to Dorn, who has this sweet 2000 528i with the factory sport package. 17" factory BBS wheels!

Dorn opted for a sweet indash AM/FM/CD player with motorized LCD screen, all Pioneer stuff, with navigation and 6 disc DVD changer in the trunk.

Dorn wanted function over form, and no extra trim panels, just screw the amp to the box, facing the rear seat, (angled the same as the seatback) and we hung the changer and nav units high in the trunk under the rear shelf.
Power and signal cables were routed and clamped, but nothing was done to conceal them. Function first for our buddy Dorn. On a car like this there is already premium labor because of how the interior comes apart (or doesn’t).

This angle doesn’t show it well, but we countersunk the subs and grills. Later the changer and nav units were mounted to the underside of the rear shelf, (at top in photo), sort of detracting from the simple beauty of a double baffled .75" MDF, divided, stuffed, lined and braced, glued and screwed and carpeted with care.
Dorn is one cool cat, and we enjoyed working on his car and hanging out with him and his family. Dorn also rocks out with some sweet tunes now...thank you Dorn!
