2007 Porsche 997 (911) S
A local customer brought this car in. He wanted to gain volume and sound quality on a really tight budget. The speakers in these cars are oem quality, even on the Bose systems, and leave much to be desired. Corners are always cut on oem systems, they're weighing how much to "spend" and how many people will really appreciate each nuance. Well, mister, I think nuances are what good quality sound is all about! An area where even more costs can (and consistently "are") cut from a good audio system design is amplifier power. A lightweight cheap amplifier that has just a smidgeon of actual clean power makes more sense to the bottom line of even small independent sports car manufacturers. Oh well, 'more business for us, and more opportunity to delight people with some worthwhile upgrades...

Here's this beautiful 997S in the installation bay. The S has more power, bigger brakes (usually like the standard Turbo brakes) more sporty with more options. And the regular "old" modern 911 is already a supercar! The standard 911 has plenty of "get up" and a top speed of 177 MPH!!!

So check it out, this is what a real amplifier looks like. We made a cover panel for this ampilifier too, courtesy of Custom Charlie.

Oh my, where'd the amplifier go? The amp is ventilated, so still stays cool, and it's protected from luggage and errant cargo. This panel is a snug fit, so requires no tools to remove, yet it's tight enough to stay put even if our (new) dentist buddy tracks this car! More power to even the factory speakers still helps! In fact, it's been dramatic on a couple of cars we've done, including this and a Cayman S.
