Aston Martin Vanquish

A local customer called looking for help with his Aston Martin Vanquish.  His factory amplifier was on the fritz and he was quoted several thousand dollars by the dealer to replace it.  He also had a blown factory subwoofer.

Here's this beautiful machine in the our shop.  The V12 and paddle shifters make this thing seem menacing, with a nice growl and seemingly poised to devour the road.

Since this machine is handbuilt in England, with mostly leather interior panels and components, it was extremely time-consuming to remove enough interior to access the factory subwoofer mounted on the rear parcel shelf.  The amplifier, by a high end home brand, was much easier to access in the trunk.  We were able to get the amplifier repaired and we replaced the factory subwoofer with a Kenwood Excelon shallow mount 10" unit.  The interior R&R time approached 20 hours.(!)

Here's what the car looked like in installation bay #2, hehe, mostly German cars otherwise including two Porsches, a BMW and my (Rod's) El Camino project car at the rear of the shop.  The dark grey Porsche down there is a new 997 Twin Turbo cabriolet.  The Aston still garnered much attention by gawking customers and, well, us too...

One final parting shot of the rear of the Vanquish.  Thank you Darius for the referral, and we were happy to help and save the Aston owner at least a few thousand dollars!
