2006 Cayman S
Anthony contacted us from the SF Bay Area, after learning about our affinity for Porsches. We're about a hundred miles away, but that doesn't seem to hinder our Bay Area customers!
Anthony wanted to keep his factory indash headunit/radio, but improve sound clarity and add some accurate bass response. Once again, it's time to remove the Bose stuff!

Here's Antyhony's car inside the shop when we started to get down. First, we needed to integrate with the factory radio and factory amplifier. The JL Audio Cleansweep allows us to "correct" the funny equalization curve built into the factory stereo/amplifier designed to make cheap speakers sound better. We put in a real amplifier, an Audison LRX6.9, some nice Focal speakers, and an Arc Audio 8" subwoofer in a custom subwoofer in a custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosure with removable flush fitting grill.

Here's a view of the subwoofer enclosure on the driver's side with the grill in place. The grill is simple and easily removed, rendering serviceability of the subwoofer itself or tail light assembly unhindered. Initially we built one single subwoofer enclosure and subwoofer, and Anthony was certain he'd be happy with the response of a single 8" subwoofer. The single subwoofer worked quite well, effectively loading to the interior in this perfectly designed hatchback and interior layout. But, sometimes you hear a subwoofer setup sounding better than you expected, smooth and tight, accurate and sharp-then you are no longer afraid of too much boomy bass-so adding a second subwoofer really finished this system off for Anthony on a subsequent visit to our shop.

Here's another view of the driver's side subwoofer with grill in place. 'sorry, I thought I'd taken a picture with the grill off as well. 'oh well, this is a great setup for the Cayman. Notice the notch at the rear edge of the grill that allows easy removal of the grill.
Anthony-you're the coolest! Enjoy the tunes, and thanks for putting your trust in us. Rock on!
