2000 VW Jetta

Joseph brought his Jetta to us and asked if we could install his JL Audio 15W0 subwoofers into the trunk floor.  Initially I didn't think there'd be nearly enough air volume for either subwoofer, but I measured and calculated the volume of the spare tire well and found that if we could make an airtight baffle panel to mount the subs over this spare tire well, it would work.

Here' Joseph's Jetta, 18" wheels (!) and all.  This thing is pretty cool, it's just a notch or two down from an Audi A4, and you can see Audi influence throughout the car, right down to the tight interior panels.

Here's the trunk before we started working.

Here is the baffle panel in place, sealed to the spare tire well.   We replaced the carpet as well so that he could save his original mat, unaltered, to reinstall when he sells the car.

This picture shows the flush mounted grill in place, which can be removed by pulling upward on a couple of straps that we attached at the rear edge of this grill.  Joseph says he's really happy with the looks and performance of this setup.
