Rod’s recent ride was his wife’s old 1990 Accord. This car has had several different systems in it over the last 9 years (test bed for Car Audio Innovations) and the current setup is nice enough to qualify the car as Rod’s daily driver.  More changes are planned.  It's like a disease....

The latest installation started with some Focal Utopia series 136W component separates for the front doors.

An airtight, rigid mount.  These babies juuuuuussssst fit.  A foam acoustic baffle keeps water from the back, but squeaks on the window a bit when it rains.

A nice big ARC Audio 4150 amplifier with bass knob, 110 x 2 for the front speakers, 380 watts bridged to the Image Dynamics 10" subs (with bass knob!), and a Stinger 1 Farad monitor cap.  Nothing fancy here, yet...

Since the Image Dynamics IDQ 10" subs are "small enclosure" subwoofers, installing them in a ported configuration sometimes requires using elbows to get the port dimensions correct. (!)

Not the most beautiful or custom installation, but it’s fundamentally sound, very well balanced, and loud enough for me! ;)
