FAQ's:

Q. What's your phone number?

A. 916-780-9450 Locally, and 1-800-892-6430 Nationally

Q. Where are you located?

A. Earth.  'just kidding, we're in Roseville, California, in the Sacramento area of Northern California. 212 Harding Blvd., Suite H in Harding Plaza, a shopping center 2 driveways from the Roseville DMV.

Q. What are your hours?

A. We're here 9am until 6pm, Monday through Saturday, but closed on Sundays.

Q. Do you only work on high end vehicles?

(or) Do you only work on Porsches?

A. No, no and double no.  We work on all types of vehicles, day in, day out, every week!  We work on Harleys, travel trailers, pickups, old classics, new high end sports cars, everything!  Cheap beater commuter from the 80's 'still banging along? Bring it!  We work on pretty much anything!

Q. How long does it take?

A. This depends on what we're doin'.

Work such as replacing a factory radio with a an upgraded aftermarket style in many cars takes about an hour.  Some take a bit less, some more.  We are skilled enough to be able to cut the time down to about a third if we chose time over quality and profit over value.  We choose instead to solder and tape all radio connections, we also work to preserve the integrity of your vehicle and its various components and wiring.  Sometimes we're interrupted while working since all of our installers are sales guys, and all us sales guys are also installers.  We need to eat lunch sometimes and answer the phones-this can mean that labor time and time actually required with your vehicle in our shop can be different.  Conversely, two of us might "double team" a given job and halve the time required.  Watch our for the triple tag-team, or the quad squad.

Custom work that involves materials like paint, adhesives, fiberglass, will naturally require more time since such materials need curing time.  Some work requires several sessions of material application with curing periods between each application, spread out over days or even, in extreme custom/fabrication work - weeks.  Much more time actually goes into fabrication and preparation than applying a finish, carpet, or vinyl.  Sanding and prep-work, removal and reinstallation of extensive interior panels, seats, etc., can be the bulk of any job.  Some of the extensive custom work we do involves complexity and since it is truly one-off, custom work, it can require us to strategize on one or more aspects of an extensive job.  We often need some time to plan, change plans, update plans or vision, to look "through" the job and how each step will need to proceed.  We also like to look for opportunities to figure out and enhance what you really want-even though you may not know what to ask for!

(Your car will always be inside our shop overnight, customer vehicles never stay outside overnight.  We have 4400 square feet altogether, with perhaps the largest dedicated car audio installation bay in the Sacramento region.)

We want to you to get your money's worth, and hopefully more.  We're here for questions as long as you have them, even weeks, months, or years after we do work on your vehicle.

Q. I have a Porsche (or any type of vehicle, really) but I'm not in Northern California, can you still help me?

A. We're happy to help.  Although territorial restrictions can prevent us from selling our authorized brands online, we do have products and packages, heck-even complete systems for your ride, with tech support.  We ship UPS daily, and have been serving a somewhat specialized market of sporty cars from a company based in Stuttgart since 1991.  We have familiarity with many, many vehicles.  As of 2010, our combined staff experience as professionals in this business amounts to about 45 years.  (We have 4 guys total).  Our collective experience working on cars in general reflects about 60 years total, as of 2010.  (Again, among us four, with Rod being the old-timer!)

Q. I have questions, but I'm afraid I'll be pressured, or just feel uncomfortable asking questions.

A. We take pride in patiently answering questions, sometimes hundreds, collectively, in a day.  That's what we're here for.  We enjoy making people happy.  We get our biggest kicks from helping people.  You might not need to buy anything, there might be a simple, free, fix/adjustment we can make to your setup.  We don't expect you to know stuff exclusive to our business or even electronics in general, and there's no shame in just wanting to see what's available.  No one here is commissioned, we do our best to work as a team instead and make sure you're happy.  Everyone here wants you to be happy, even if you don't buy something, even if you bought something from us 10 years ago.

Q. My uncle (or sister's boyfriend/Mom's boyfriend/co-worker) said he could install my new stereo.  Now he's kind of messed up my car/truck/ride.  He chopped off a plug and now we can't even get the original radio to work.  It might be possessed by a supernatural force.  I'm really scared.

A. Ha, you're funny.  Seriously, 'bring it by and let us take a look.  We can usually eyeball something like that (technical jargon) and gauge time and parts costs, so you can review your options.  I personally dig your Uncle Rico's style, but if you want it to work properly and consistently, we might need to get involved and redo stuff.

Q. I want a sound system in my vehicle that sounds really good, has the entire musical range, but I want music that's smooth and natural sounding.  I don't want something that rattles or annoys others in traffic and local streets.

A. "I have one neighbor with loud annoying bass.  I enjoy bass that I can feel inside my car, but I'm annoyed by peoples’ loud, obtrusive, invasive (you hear and feel inside your car or home) bass.  Ugh.  I believe that 1500 continuous watts of power is good, hehe, but loud, disproportionate bass in any system sounds less musical to me.  A good system will sound nice, tight, balanced, responsive, accurate and nothing will rattle.  A nice system will even seem pretty quiet outside the car with windows up-thanks to a well-damped interior and adequate sound dampening.  I personally enjoy sitting in my car in my garage, listening to my system without more than slight, muted bass notes heard nearby.  The impact I feel from a kick drum is felt inside the car, but not really heard outside the car.  Having an entire trunk lid to rattle, or a license plate buzzing, yikes, that's not music, that's coloration of music.  The only things that should create sound in your vehicle are the speaker cones and tweeter domes across the system, balanced and harmonic.  (Other sounds you'll hear; humans sighing, gasps, "wow", etc.).  One must experience (firsthand! come by for demo!) music sparkling with clarity, sonics, nuances, a new experience altogether.  We can deliver great sound that sounds great and doesn't run out of power - even at speed, even on the freeway.  Higher quality amplifiers, speakers, headunit/radio, subs, 'proper mounting, settings, planning and execution all results in an optimization of  what's possible.  The results are shimmering with tonal accuracy, realistic in their rendering of any well-recorded music.  The proper installation results in an experience far greater than even the identical equipment with a sub-standard installation job.  Without effectively providing proper baffling of each speaker, optimum positioning and location of drivers, equipment, wiring, proper settings with levels and crossovers.  RTA (real time analysis) meters are available and frequently used, along with an oscilloscope for setting amplifier gains.  But hey, let us worry about these details, you just tell us what you would like.  We'll often have suggestions to ensure that you get your moneys' worth, then we do our thing.  We know we're done when you're so happy that you find difficulty showing gratitude in words.  We'll just smile, it's all good."
